This is above the amusement arcade opposite McDonald's. You sometimes have to press the door buzzer to get let in and this, coupled with the mirrored staircase up to the bar, can make it feel like your heading into some dodgy Soho strip bar. Once you're in the bar, the feeling of the venue changes; the decor is somewhat dated and feels a bit like a small Working Men's Club with well kept red velour seating and fake plants. The bar prices are quite good, especially the double spirits which you can knock back for £2. The crowd in Annie's is predominantly gay. Annie's is more popular than The Oak with the older folk, and the atmosphere is always friendly and lively, especially when the karaoke is on.
