Happy New Year

Posted Dec 30, 2016 7:00PM EST

If you haven't been watching the new pix section, we've been doing just fine. :) Lots of hot men appearing all the time, and I'm looking forward to doing more work on the site in 2017. I hope everyone's had a great year, with an even better one ahead.

Not dead yet!

We're still here, despite the long dry spell. I went on a transatlantic cruise, then spent six weeks in Europe. I thought I would have time to work on the site while I was there, but it didn't turn out that way. I've arrived back in the U.S., and should be back in action in the next week or two. Thanks so much for your patience, hope you've been enjoying the pix in the meantime!

Announcement mail

Posted Mar 15, 2016 8:00PM EDT

The site is continuing to be updated, but email announcements have been stopped due to spam complaints from AOL users which necessitate a change in the way we send the announcements. For now, you can continue to see what's new at http:/, or get announcements through our Twitter or Facebook pages.

Quiet time

I want to apologize for the site going silent for several weeks. During the first week of December, many weeks of not feeling well culminated in a trip to the emergency room to seek treatment for clinical depression. I was placed on medication and moved to Fort Lauderdale to continue treatment and seek counseling. This is a new experience for me, and one that has been all-consuming. I've reached a point of stability and am feeling much better, but all my time has been taken with healing myself and catching up on many, many chores that had been left undone since the end of October. I'll be going on a cruise with my partner tomorrow until the middle of February, and hope to be back and updating the site after that. I greatly appreciate everyone's patience and support. I hope that you're all well and the year's off to a great start for you. Please take care of yourselves.

Hiccup

I'm sorry for the lack of posts last week. I returned from a week at a campground, and as soon as I got out my laptop, it died. I'll have to work out a system for posting updates from my iPad. I've been busy all week preparing for a trip. At the end of May, I sold everything except what I could fit in my car, and got on the road. Now, I'm slimming down to just a backpack in order to travel west. I'll be in Denver next week, then San Francisco for the rest of August. If any sfpix fans are around, maybe we can meet up! In the meantime, I'll continue working out the kinks in my on-the-road systems, and thank you for your patience.

Back!

Posted Jun 05, 2015 8:00PM EDT

Thanks again for all of the support during the whirlwind time I've had the last few weeks. I've been spending every day selling my belongings, emptying my house, and getting on the road. I locked the door behind me June 1st, and became a nomad. I've been in Philadelphia, am headed to Baltimore, then Charlotte, then who knows? Preparing to travel and traveling have left me without time to update sfpix until now. I'm back, but will be posting on a more modest schedule until my life becomes a little more stable in a couple of weeks. It's good to be back with you, looking forward to sharing lots more beautiful men together.

Lack of posts this month

Posted Apr 22, 2015 8:00PM EDT

I'm sorry that nothing has been posted to sfpix for a couple of weeks. My father died last month, and my partner broke up with me last week. It's been a busy and difficult time, and I'm in the middle of selling everything in my house and moving. I'll prepare new postings as I'm able, but it's going to be intermittent for a while. Thanks very much for your understanding and patience.

sfpix downtime

The were some unexpected problems when me moved to a new domain registrar, and sfpix was sometimes unavailable over the weekend. The problems should be settled now, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

sfpix's future

Posted Jul 27, 2013 8:00PM EDT

I'd like to take a moment to talk about the status of the Silverfox Pictures Archive, a status which has been a status quo for a very long time. No one is more aware than I am that the site is quite old by contemporary standards and has long been in need of an overhaul. The last round of changes I made to it were halfway measures, some of them made as quick fixes meant to be quickly replaced but which have stayed on for years. Unfortunately, my personal life has been repeatedly flying apart in various ways for the past five years. I never intended to neglect sfpix, but here's what's been happening:

In the Fall of 2008, [my partner Glenn][jeffcovey] became ill and eventually spent four months in the hospital and in a rehab center. By the time he was discharged in the Spring, he had developed dementia, and I became a fulltime caregiver for him. That Summer, [my mother suffered a stroke][jeffcovey 2] and my father and brother were in a car accident a few days later. When my parents...

Server relaunch

Posted Jul 01, 2013 8:00PM EDT

At the beginning of April, our hosting service asked us to migrate sfpix to their new server farm. They neglected to mention that the site would blow up in a half dozen different ways because of a mismatch between the kernel on our virtual machine and the one on the server it was running on. We've had widespread filesystem corruption and assorted wonkiness. I've been restoring the site from backups and doing little patchwork fixes until I've had time for a real solution.

When I came home two nights ago, I had a notification that the site was down, and when I tried to get it going again, the server wouldn't boot. I made one final backup of our data, wiped the server, and reinstalled from scratch. Hopefully, we're stable again.

I believe I've tested everything. Let us know if I've missed anything, or if anything starts to fail again. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, and hope we can all get back to just enjoying some beautiful men. :-)

Sincerely, Jeff

P.S.: As always,...
