The Regency Tavern is one of the best-known pubs in Brighton, with glitz, glamour, and great food and drink making it one of the city’s must-visit venues.

One of two pubs still standing in Brighton that applied for the original “Beer Shop Licence” in 1830, it’s richly decorated in the Regency style of that era — strewn with ornate furnishings, gilt mirrors, and luxurious drapes. Even the lavatories here come complete with mirror balls and sparkle.

There’s plenty of substance to go with the style, though. The Regency Tavern offers a wide choice of traditional cask ales and distinctive international lagers, as well as an excellent wine selection, sourced from independent producers around the world.

And it wouldn’t be The Regency without a sparkling atmosphere to backdrop your dinner and drinks. Talented pianists perform a variety of music here every Sunday afternoon, adding a little extra “showbiz” with pop songs, light classical, and hits from the shows.
