Image tagging is working again — and we've built it out a bit along the way. Here's what you can do now, and why we hope you'll pitch in.
What's new
- Tag as you upload. There's a tag field on the image contribution form.
- Tag (or re-tag) any image from its page. You can see how others have tagged an image and add your own tags to help you find it later.
- Your tags are yours. The editor pre-fills with the tags you've added to that image, not everyone else's. Think of it as your own personal index layered over the gallery.
-
Browse by tag. The top 20 popular tags appear as chips on https://oldergay.men/images/.
Need more? The full list lives at https://oldergay.men/images/tags, and there's a Tags tab in the browse navigation now. - Favorites view is tag-aware. When you're looking at your favorites, the tag chips are scoped to your tags on your favorites — so it becomes a personal, searchable collection. When you look at someone else's favorites, you see the tags he's used to organize them.
Why tag?
Two reasons, and they work together:
- So you can find what you want later. Every tag you add is a bookmark with your own vocabulary on it. Body type, setting, mood, era, a guy who reminds you of someone — whatever words help you find it again. Since your tags pre-fill for you and scope to your favorites, the more you tag, the more the site starts to feel organized around the way you see it.
- So you can help others find pictures they'll enjoy. Your tags also feed the popular-tag chips and the all-tags index that everyone browses.
A few seconds on your end highlights the hottest highlights for the next member who comes through.

Those are the pictures you've already told us you love — the ones most worth tagging. The favorites view will show you your own tags as you add them, so you can feel the index building up in real time.
Tag early, tag often
Pick a few favorites today. Add whatever words come to mind. It all helps — your future self most of all.
