Boiler is a modern men's sauna with an industrial character in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg. Open 360 days a year, it provides massages, a whirlpool, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, a terrace, relaxation areas, cabins, and a bistro. Boiler is equally popular with younger and older men.
Der Boiler was by far the best bathhouse/sauna I have ever been to! Just 100ft from the train stop, you enter a courtyard of gorgeous old buildings, and the entrance to Boiler is on the back left-hand side. Use the doorbell and unlock the old-style door to a new kind of bathhouse. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. The staff spoke fluent English, which made it even easier. Up the stairs to a giant locker room with communal showers, private water closets, a yoga studio, and a quiet place to sit. Down a level to the amazing bar area and outdoor garden. Down one more level, with appropriate music and mood lighting, you are greeted by a pool and hot tub which is surrounded by two steam rooms set at different temperatures, one with a maze full of fun and debauchery. Two dry saunas are also set at different temperatures. Everyone follows the rules here, and everything was immaculately clean. All the playrooms are open for use and at no extra charge; there was a small movie room with bench seating, and a fairly well-marked maze filled with fantasy-fueled fun.
The clientele during the day was really diverse. Someone for everyone, for sure. If you couldn't find your type of hot man, you weren't looking. Sadly, I was only able to go once, and I would love to go back and become a regular. I'd be hard-pressed to find a better bathhouse!
