The George Country Sports Bar Gumbo Cook-off began as a small, community-driven group of friends with a mission to support local charities in their gay community—an idea sparked after a few drinks.
Over the years, it has grown into a much-anticipated annual tradition, raising more than $100,000 for organizations such as Bering Omega Community Respite Services, Houston Battered Woman Shelters, Houston Suicide Prevention and our beloved HATCH Youth at the Montrose Center.
