Town Hall Apartments, the adaptive re-use of the historic decommissioned Town Hall police station and new construction of a six-story residential building, opened in August 2014. Its senior residents enjoy bright, modern apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with dynamic city views (some of Wrigley Field!). Town Hall Apartments is an LGBTQ-friendly development located in Chicago's Lake View community. CHA provides rental assistance through its Project Based Voucher (PBV) program to 79 units that assist seniors age 55+. Seniors are able to participate in supportive services at the Center of Halsted, the Midwest's most comprehensive center dedicated to strengthening the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community. More than 1,000 community members visit the Center every day.
