SAGE Centers offer a number of social activities and programs for LGBT older people throughout New York City.
A five-minute walk from New York City's Penn Station, SAGE Center Midtown opened in January 2012 as the nation's first full-time LGBT senior center. Participants gather from around the city in this bustling location for services and programs related to arts and culture, fitness, food and nutrition, health and wellness, and lifelong education. On weeknights, participants enjoy a hot dinner for a small suggested contribution while taking in spectacular city views.
Our dedicated Care Management team offers LGBTQ+ elders and caregivers access to LGBTQ+ affirming support and programs across New York City. Elders rely on families and friends for critical support in times of need. Running errands, picking up prescriptions, paying bills, cooking meals, or accompanying a friend to the doctor—this is just the kind of help we give to members of our community who are experiencing poor health or going through a rough patch.
